Man Killed While Riding Bicycle in West Phoenix

PHOENIX, AZ – A man was fatally struck by a vehicle while he was riding his bicycle in west Phoenix Thursday morning, the Arizona Republic reports.

Police say the bicyclist was riding on Camelback Road near 43rd Avenue when he was hit by a westbound vehicle at about 8:20 a.m.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld pending further investigation.

The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. Impairment is not believed to be a factor at this time.
