Phillips Law Group Teams Up With Project Connect and Human Services Campus

Phillips Law Group has been going strong this summer when it comes to connecting with community outreach opportunities, and we are excited to announce that we have established yet another promising volunteer partnership. Phillips Law Group is teaming up with Project Connect and Human Services Campus for their community outreach program that aims to address the needs of underserved individuals and the homeless. 

All About Project Connect

“Project Connect is a one-day event offering wrap-around services to people at risk of or experiencing homelessness,” the Human Services Campus website reveals. “Project Connect meets people where they are with all of the most essential solutions provided by more than 20 state, federal, and non-profit organizations.”

On August 16th, Phillips Law Group’s Community Outreach Coordinator Jackie Velez attended one of these events in the hopes of connecting with other organizations involved in the project. Our firm has a deep commitment to serving the community, particularly in the area of helping the homeless population in Arizona, so it was the perfect opportunity to team up with Project Connect and begin a great new partnership. 

What Happens at Project Connect?

According to the Human Services Campus website, at a Project Connect event, “an individual can receive a new state ID, a new set of clothes, a shower, healthcare, social security benefits, a meal, housing assistance, and so much more.”

Around 150 guests are served at every Project Connect event, where volunteers handle everything from set up to breakdown. They provide assistance, help guests navigate the event and the participating organizations there, and so much more.

Like many of our other volunteer partnerships, Project Connect is a way to give back to the community and to our unhoused neighbors in particular. Phillips Law Group is proud to begin a new collaboration with the program, and we plan to regularly take part in Project Connect events in the future. 

Project Connect takes place in a different Valley location every 4-6 weeks, and Phillips Law Group will participate and have a table at their next event, Project Connect in the City of Avondale. We are honored to be included in a group of providers appearing at the event which has included amazing organizations like A New Leaf, the Homeless ID Project, St. Vincent de Paul, Valley of the Sun United Way, and many more in the past.

Many members of the team at Phillips Law Group proudly participate in numerous community outreach events each month. Almost every week, the firm has some type of volunteer opportunity available for staff members to take part in.

These events are just part of our unwavering dedication to community service. We believe it is important to volunteer with the communities we serve, and not only do we organize our own Feeding Arizona events to serve the homeless, but our firm also regularly helps causes like Arizona Helping Hands, Women4Women Tempe, the Arizona Animal Welfare League, My Hope Bag, and more.
