Phillips Law Group Volunteers at Maggie’s Place Expansion
June 22, 2023
Phillips Law Group is deeply committed to community service, and as part of our mission to give back to our community, members of the firm regularly volunteer with a local organization called Maggie’s Place. Recently, volunteers helped out at one of the organization’s new locations – The Gabriel House. The Maggie’s Place expansion is vitally important to the organization, and Phillips Law Group staff members got to help out getting the new location ready for pregnant moms in need.
Maggie’s Place is dedicated to welcoming “pregnant and parenting women and their children into a safe and loving community, providing life-changing programs and ongoing services to help them to become self-sufficient.” The organization offers direct support services and a big part of what the staff there does is provide secure housing for pregnant women and their infants.
Laura Magruder, Maggie’s Place CEO, said of the new Gabriel House expansion, “Adding an additional maternity home to house more homeless, pregnant women is a vital next step for Maggie’s Place as we continue to thoughtfully grow to address the need in Maricopa County.”
“We currently receive an average of 50 calls a week from pregnant moms seeking shelter that would qualify for our services that we are unable to house due to being at capacity.”
Members of the Phillips Law Group team were able to help make the goal of expanding the space Maggie’s Place has available to support these mothers a reality. On June 16, several volunteers assisted with whatever tasks the organization needed them to handle to transform the Gabriel House expansion into everything it is capable of becoming as a safe, welcoming place for homeless, pregnant, and parenting women and their children.
Volunteers from the firm will be volunteering with Maggie’s Place twice a month for the rest of the year, and many have already helped out the organization as part of other volunteer opportunities earlier in 2023!
At Phillips Law Group, we believe it is important for all businesses to give back whenever possible, and community outreach is at the core of our mission as a firm. We can always use more helping hands at community events we work on and organize, including volunteers for our own Feeding Arizona work to help the homeless population in Phoenix.
Please feel free to contact us if you’d like to get involved! We can help you get in touch with organizations like Maggie’s Place or get you on our own list of volunteers who can help at our community service events.
We’d love to hear from you and guide you to be of service to our community – because there truly is no better feeling than helping those in need in your own neighborhood.
